Dial-A-Ride (Paratransit)
Demand-response service for people with disabilities provides door-to-door service and must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Route Deviated Service
Outside the Dial-A-Ride service area, fixed-route service can deviate by pre-arrangement (a minimum of 24 hours in advance) up to 3/4 mile to serve ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) eligible riders. This service is available on the #1 Brinnon route and on the Olympic Connection service in West Jefferson County.

West Jefferson Transit
For the last 5 years, it has been possible to travel in a loop around the Olympic Peninsula by bus. The Olympic Connection runs through Jefferson County as it connects Forks (in Clallam County) with Amanda Park (in Grays Harbor County) on Highway 101.

Vanpool
Jefferson Transit currently operates one commuter vanpool to Keyport and two to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. A vanpool can have as few as 6 or as many as 15 people in it. The more vanpoolers, the less expensive the ride.

Ridesharing
Jefferson Transit now participates in an on-line ridesharing service that is administered by the state Department of Transportation. You can use this service independently of Jefferson Transit by going to www.rideshareonline.com when you get on the Internet. If you do not have regular access to the internet and need assistance with this service, please call us at 360-385-4777 and we will assist you.

Community Van
Non-profit organizations can use Community Vans for a minimal fee to transport groups of people to activities sponsored by their organization. Volunteer drivers from the group must take a defensive driving course and orientation session at Jefferson Transit before their first scheduled trip.

Bus Buddies
The Bus Buddy program is a safe and personal introduction to the transit system through the assistance of trained and qualified Bus Buddy volunteers. With the help of a Bus Buddy, you can gain the tools and the confidence to travel safely in and around town, or wherever the bus goes!
